Every year, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET UG counselling based on the NEET UG scores of the applicants applying for BDS admission to IMS BHU under the All-India Quota. MCC has not yet released the NEET UG counselling dates for IMS BHU BDS admission 2025. The counselling schedule is expected to be released in July 2025. Meanwhile, candidates can find below the previous-year counselling schedule for reference:

NEET UG is the accepted entrance exam for BDS admission at IMS BHU. It is a national-level medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Every year, NTA conducts the exam usually on the first Sunday of May. The exact exam dates vary from year to year. In 2025, the NEET 2025 exam has already taken place. The application process for the same was conducted between Feb and Mar. Eligible candidates can visit the official NEET UG (NTA) website to learn about other important dates.

Yes, a full-time Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is available at IMS BHU Varanasi. The duration of the programme is five years, including a compulsory internship of one year. The course is offered in affiliation with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). BDS admission at Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU is subject to the fulfillment of the NEET UG eligibility criteria. To be eligible to sit for the NEET UG exam, candidates must have passed Class 12, with an aggregate of at least 50% and English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects. Applicable relaxation in the eligibility criteria may be provided to SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. Additionally, candidates must complete the age of 17 years on or before Dec 31 of the year of admission and should be medically fit.

No, there is no provision for getting direct admission to the BDS course of IMS BHU. The admission is solely based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) ranks secured by the applicants. NEET is the medical entrance exam conducted by the NTA. Seats are allocated to qualified candidates through the national/state-level counselling. Only NEET-qualified candidates can participate in the counselling process. Additionally, candidates are required to satisfy the preset eligibility criteria to secure admission.

Candidates who are allocated an BDS seats at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU through the NEET UG counselling must confirm their admission by submitting the applicable fees. The total BDS fee at IMS BHU is INR 1.67 lakh for the entire course duration. In addition to the course fee, selected candidates may have to pay certain one-time fees at admission.
