Yes, BITS HD has negative marking. For a correct answer, 3 marks are awarded and -1 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.

Yes, it is possible to crack BITS HD exam in 3 months, if your concepts are clear and good foundational knowledge. If you have appeared or preparing for GATE, then 70% of preparation is already completed. Also, attempt mock test and PYQs to improve time management and accuracy to attempt questions.

BITS HD Mathematics syllabus are-

  • Calculus - functions, graphs, limit and continuity, gauss and Stokes, triple integrals, etc. 

  • Linear algebra - matrix algebra, system of linear equations, etc. 

  • Complex variables - analytic functions, Cauchy's theorems, Taylor and Laurent's theorem, etc.

  • Probability and Statistics - sample space and events, central limit theorem, sampling distribution, etc.

  • Differential equations - first-order differential equations, initial and boundary value problems, method of separation of variables, etc.

  • Numerical methods - solution of non-algebraic equations, secant method, LU decomposition, etc.

No, it's better to study complete syllabus that is allotted for BITS HD 2026 exam. It will help to get score in the exam. Also, if you have appeared for GATE paper, then also go through the GATE paper syllabus as well.
