Yes, it is possible to crack BITS HD exam in 3 months, if your concepts are clear and good foundational knowledge. If you have appeared or preparing for GATE, then 70% of preparation is already completed. Also, attempt mock test and PYQs to improve time management and accuracy to attempt questions.

The BITS HD (Higher Degree Test) is usually moderate to tough. Compared to GATE paper, core subject section is usually at moderate level. Technical questions are direct and theoretical based. English and aptitude section is mainly easy.

BITS HD exam 2026 will be held on May 25 and 26. Registrations are ongoing, and last date to apply is April 20. The mode of exam is online, and will be held across 71 cities in India and abroad.

Candidates are not allowed to carry the following items inside the exam centre -

  • Geometry or Pencil box.  
  • Eatables. 

  • Handbag.  

  • Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager/Calculator.  

  • Any metallic item or electronic gadgets/devices. 

  • Purse

Candidates appearing for BITS HD exam must follow guidelines properly. They must reach the test centre before exam time along with hall ticket and a valid ID proof. No late entry will be accepted. In addition, physical calculator is allowed inside exam hall.

Yes, BITS HD exam does have negative marking for incorrect answer. For each correct answer, 3 marks are awarded and for incorrect responses, 1 mark is deducted.

If you were to prepare for 15 days for Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Higher Degree) entrance exam. I would recommend focusing on Core mathematics that you had learnt in College and 10+2. It is best to study the egilibility criteria because many students had often overestimated the exam syllabus and left out simple key points.And, fail.

The BITS HD test centres list is now available along with the information brochure. The BITS HD exam will be conducted in 53 cities. The list of the exam cities are updated on the official website. Candidates can select upto three exam cities in their application form.
