Yes, BITS HD has negative marking. For a correct answer, 3 marks are awarded and -1 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.

Yes, it is possible to crack BITS HD exam in 3 months, if your concepts are clear and good foundational knowledge. If you have appeared or preparing for GATE, then 70% of preparation is already completed. Also, attempt mock test and PYQs to improve time management and accuracy to attempt questions.

The BITS HD (Higher Degree Test) is usually moderate to tough. Compared to GATE paper, core subject section is usually at moderate level. Technical questions are direct and theoretical based. English and aptitude section is mainly easy.

BITS HD exam pattern is now available. As per the question paper format, there will be a total of 2 sections in test 1 - Core Mathematics and English Language Skills & logical reasoning. Papers 2 & 3 will have one section each. Total duration to complete test 1 is 60 minutes. Test 2 is held for 120 minutes.

Yes, BITS HD exam does have negative marking for incorrect answer. For each correct answer, 3 marks are awarded and for incorrect responses, 1 mark is deducted.

BITS HD Mathematics syllabus are-
Calculus - functions, graphs, limit and continuity, gauss and Stokes, triple integrals, etc.
Linear algebra - matrix algebra, system of linear equations, etc.
Complex variables - analytic functions, Cauchy's theorems, Taylor and Laurent's theorem, etc.
Probability and Statistics - sample space and events, central limit theorem, sampling distribution, etc.
Differential equations - first-order differential equations, initial and boundary value problems, method of separation of variables, etc.
Numerical methods - solution of non-algebraic equations, secant method, LU decomposition, etc.

The difficulty level of the BITS HD 2025 exam ranges from moderate to demanding. The questions will be selected randomly from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. The expert committe ensures that the toughness level of the question paper is evenly distributed. Therefore, it is recommended that students familarise themselves with the specified syllabis in order to adequately prepare for the exam. Compared to the GATE exam, the BITS HD exam is much easier.
