What is BITS HD?
BITS (Birla Institute of Technical Science) Pilani conducts an online entrance exam called the Birla Institute of Science and Technology Higher Degree Test (BITS HD). This BITS HD entrance test is for candidates seeking admission to its higher degree programs in all BITS Pilani campuses (Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa). M.E./M. All three campuses offer Pharma - Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa.
Candidates must know that other than through BITS HD test, campus also accepts GATE/GPAT scores. Through BITS HD exam, candidates can seek admission to 3 Higher education degrees, i.e., Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in various streams. BITS has four campuses in Pilani, Dubai, Goa, and Hyderabad. However, BITS HD test is only conducted on three of its campuses, Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

BITS HD Result and Counselling 2026
Birla Institute of Technology and Science released the BITS HD 2026 result in iterations. The first and second iterations are based on the GATE scores and the rest iterations are based on the BITS HD exam scores. The counselling is conducted online for every round. Candidates can opt for the counselling using their application number, date of birth and gender. Candidates who have qualified for the exam are eligible for the BITS HD counselling 2026.
As of now -
- Iteration 2 result for GATE and BITS HD is now available.
- Results for Iteration 1, 2, and 3 are now available for the GATE admission mode.
The counselling process is now over. Reporting of students is scheduled for July 29, and academic session will begin from August 3 onwards.
BITS HD Cutoff 2026
Birla Institute of Technical Science releases the BITS HD 2026 cutoff along with rank card. Applicants appearing in the exam can check BITS HD cutoff after the conclusion of the counselling process.
To secure admission in the preferred Insititute, applicants need to score marks equal to or more than the BITS HD 2026 cutoff. The cutoff marks varies for different campus and courses. Candidates meeting the minimum mark are eligible for the counselling process.
BITS HD 2026 Slot Booking and Admit Card
The exam authority offers BITS HD slot booking online on official website after completing the BITS HD test. Applicants appearing for the exam must complete the slot booking process to download the BITS HD admit card.
Candidates must fill in their preferred exam date, slot and centre at time of slot booking. Any candidate who fails to complete the BITS HD slot booking is allotted exam slots randomly. After successful slot booking, candidates can download BITS HD admit card. The credentials required to download BITS Pilani HD hall ticket are registration number, date of Birth (DOB), and password.

No, candidates are not required to attempt BITS HD exam if they have a valid GATE or GPAT score. All they have to do is complete the registrations and provide their score or scorecard. The iteration result will be released on the website based on the GATE or GPAT score on the scheduled dates.
