For admission in a BTech programme at Roorkee Institute of Technology, it is crucial that the aspirant fulfills the course-specific eligibility criteria. Thus, only the asiprants who have passed Class 12 with at 50% aggregate are eligible for admission. In addition, student should have passed the qualifying examination from a recognised board. Candidate must also hold the Class 12 mark sheet during application form filling and at the time of admission for verification purposes.

As described below the admission eligibility for B. Tech at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University - Mohali Campus II is as follows:

B.Tech (Civil Engineering): One must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or equivalent subjects like Computer Science). Instead of that candidates can also have a D.Voc degree in the same or allied sector with 4 years duration.

B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Lateral Entry: Candidates who have B.Sc degree or Diploma (3 years) in the concerned stream with at least 45 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST) are eligible. The course takes 3 years to complete.
