This is one of the most debated questions among Kerala engineering aspirants. NIT Calicut generally ranks higher nationally and has a stronger placement record, especially for core and product-based companies.

However, CUSAT is a great option too, especially for branches like Marine Engineering and IT, and its location in Kochi gives students excellent industry exposure. If you get NIT Calicut, go for it, but CUSAT is by no means a bad choice and has produced some outstanding engineers over the years.

Techno BIT generally accepts valid JEE Main and WBJEE scores for its BTech admissions. Candidates looking for admission must qualify for either of these entrance exams and participate in the counselling process conducted by the respective authorities for seat allotment. 

Techno BIT has not announced the last date for BTech admission yet. The admission schedule is generally released after the declaration of entrance exam results. Students planning to apply should keep track of the official website for the latest admission schedules. 

VNIT Nagpur BTech admission is based on JEE Main rank. The required rank depends on selected branch and category/quota of candidates (General, All India, Home State, etc.). In 2025, the closing ranks for BTech specialisations at VNIT ranged between 7,694 and 52,313 during the last round. For 2026 admission, the Round 1 JEE Main 2026 cut-off for various branches ranged from 6,685 to 37,846 (General AI category).
