The candidates must have cleared Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. The minimum marks should be 75 percent (65 percent in case of SC/ST candidates). Also, a valid score in JEE Main.

Candidates seeking admission in BTech in Chennai Institute of Technology are required to attend the TNEA counselling that is carried out by DOTE Chennai. The criterion is purely merit based either based on Class 12 or Diploma marks in related subject areas. The institute does not have any entrance exam to BTech admission.

Admission to BTech at IIT Hyderabad requires passing Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates have to clear JEE Main then perform well at JEE Advanced. Finally setas are alloted through JoSAA counselling. Other requirements that are necessary include age limit, limit of attempts which is in JEE norms.

The BTech programme at IIT Hyderabad is offered to the students on the basis of their performance in the JEE Advanced examination. Aspirants need to clear JEE Main to be taken into consideration to appear in JEE advanced. JoSAA counselling involves allotment of final seats. The whole procedure is competitive on an entrance basis.

Yes, to get admitted to HIMT Chennai's BTech programme, the IMU CET is required. The IMU CET results are accepted for admission to BTech programmes at all HIMT campuses. Therefore, applicants must complete the IMU CET application form and pay the application fee to get admission into an undergraduate engineering course. Further, the college conducts the rest admission process as per the candidates' ranks in IMU CET.

Yes, a medical certificate is compulsory to get admission into BTech courses at HIMT Chennai. Candidates need to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by a D.G. Shipping-approved doctor. This document is required to be submitted at the time of admission, when the applicant is selected. This BTech course is offered in Marine Engineering specialisation. Thus, this certificate plays an important role in shortlisting the candidates.

Currently, the application process has concluded for the BTech course. In this Chennai campus, candidates who qualify for IMU CET can register themselves for the admission process after the release of the IMU CET list. The application form usually starts in April/ May every academic year. For the academic batch of 2025, the last date to fill out the IMU CET application form was 2 May 2025.

Candidates can get admission to the lateral BTech course at HIMT Chennai after completing the eligibility requirements. Check out the eligibility criteria required to get lateral entry in the BTech course:
First year of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering course with an aggregate of 60%
OR
Three-year engineering Diploma in Marine/ Mechanical /Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics, from the colleges approved by AICTE or the State Board of Technical Education with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma course.

Yes, HIMT Chennai does offer a BTech course for the duration of four years. The college only offers one specialisation in the BTech course, i.e., Marine Engineering. Further, the course is divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. To get admission into this course, candidates must complete the basic eligibility requirement and secure valid scores in the entrance exam.
