The teaching staff at Cape Institute of Technology is mostly considered supportive and experienced. Most of the professors are properly qualified, many having higher qualifications and professional work experience. The professors are approachable and can be found readily available to provide help outside regular class hours. But, similar to most universities, the teaching quality can also be inconsistent in some departments.

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. Cape Institute of Technology offers only BTech, and MTech courses. The basic eligibility criteria for each course require the student to have a minimum of 45% in the previous qualification. Along with this, the student needs to have a minimum valid score in TNEA counseling or GATE for admission to BTech and MTech, respectively. Candidates meeting all the admission requirements can apply by appearing for the respective counseling. Around 35% of the seats are reserved for direct admission.
