Hi,
Apart from CAT, you can give other exams too like NMAT, SNAP, IIFT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, etc. It all depends upon which B-school you want to take admission in.

It is good to get more than 75 percentile in cat to be on safer side to get admission.

IIM Calcutta and Birla Institute of Business Studies are the best institutions in Calcutta. IIM Calcutta may have a higher cut of score but this differs every year according to the test result. The percentile score is tricky, that you should have very high individual percentile scores on quantitative, logical reasoning and data interpretation and a reasonably above average score in Verbal ability can get you a call for interview. Maybe the cut-off may vary every year depending on the performance of test population, but normally for IIM Calcutta, you may need between 95 to 98 percentile except for verbal reasoning.
