Your graduation exams are supposed to be completed by the end of this month and CAT exams are in Nov.last week so you have sufficient time to prepare for and there isn't any need of dropping for a year, coz it's upto admission committee of college whether they consider your gap or not so it is advisable not to take any such risk and time period you having is sufficient to score good in CAT.
Good luck

Engineering is generally preferred. The other option can be BBA. Most of the students in IIMs are from good engineering colleges.
If you are opting for any non-engineering course, then my recommendation would be to go only if you are getting into a top college for that course.

There is enough material available online and these websites will be quite helpful :
1. Indiabix.com: a great portal for all entrances.
2. www.wordpandit.com. Learn new methods to improve your vocab and hundereds of free online tests.
3. Handa Ka Funda Online CAT Coaching- An online course for CAT Preparation with videos and live classes.
4. www.vocabulary.com. You can learn words through roots and again, lot of free tests.
