To seek admission into IIM-B you need to score at least 50% marks at graduation exam and must get 98+ percentile score at CAT. You also need to perform well at the personal Interview (PI). However, the percentile required will depend a lot on the score of other students as well.

This is a long one to answer, but I will give it a try. MAT and CAT are really different to their core. The only similarity between these two is that on cracking any one of these, you will end up with an MBA or PGDM. Let me summarize the differences in the following points. Paper Pattern - The MAT paper has 200 questions divided in 5 sections with 40 questions each, whereas the CAT paper has 100 questions divided in 3 sections of 34,32 and 34 questions. MAT has a section called India and Global Environment which is based on GK. However CAT doesn't have a GK section unlike some other management exams. MAT has a negative marking of - 0.2

At TSCFM, one has to give IMAT and go through a PI round. Students who want to opt for top bracket
colleges through their CAT/ CET scores, are absolutely welcome to do so. However, our entrance test is
subjective in nature which tests the students' attitude, aptitude and awareness levels. The regular
psychometric analysis helps us assess their development during the course of the program. This makes
up for a steady graph in terms of their learning outputs. This facility is not available at other B- Schools.

Yes, you can appear for both in a single year. Many colleges accept MAT (Dec) scores only.

Hi Saumya!
There are different entrance exams for MBA such as CAT CET, CMAT, GMAT, NMAT, SNAP, XAT, MAT and ATMA. Out of the above mentioned exams, some are some exams are college specific (NMAT, SNAP XAT I. e. you need to appear for those exams to get into the college.
