Kurukshetra University Harayana (KUK), established in 1956 in Haryana, is a state public university affiliated with over 280 colleges over 7 districts. Founded by the Late Dr. Rajendra Prasad (First President of India) it was formerly known as Sanskrit University. Kurukshetra University (KUK) Infrastructure
The Kurukshetra University (KUK) campus spreads across 400 acres of land. KUK Harayana offers several facilities for its students. The facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, well-furnished rooms and spacious classrooms, and full-time internet connectivity. In addition to this, the institute also offers medical and sports facilities to the students. The other facilities provided to the students of the institute include:
- Hostel Facilities: The university currently has 22 hostels that are 9 for boys, 1 for foreign male students, and 12 for girls, located on the spacious campus. These hostels can accommodate 2500 girls and 2000 boys. Providing a comfortable and safe atmosphere to the students. Each hostel on the campus operates its own mess providing hygienic and nutritious meals with a varied menu. Given the large number of applicants seeking hostel accommodation, the university allocates hostels to the students based on their merit in the admission list.
- University Library: The university library is centrally located and is an air-conditioned three-storey building with having 49,230 sq. feet plinth area and its extension as Golden Jubilee Reading Hall. It has a seating capacity of 470 users at a time and remains open on 360 days from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 midnight. The University Library has a rich collection of 339817 volumes in the stream of Sciences, Management, Social Science, Commerce and Humanities too.
