Students can apply to private colleges before the Class 12 result is announced. Most of private universities and institutions carry out their application process and conduct entrance exams before Class 12th results are out.

Yes, most law departments at private and government law colleges in Chennai do not ask for CLAT exam scores for BA LLB after Class 12. Even the top-ranked Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences BA LLB course requires Saveetha Admission Test scores if you haven't sat for the CLAT exam. VELS School of Law has no entrance and takes in candidates with 45% or more marks in Class 12 in total.

No there should not be any hassle in case of admission after a gap year in private universities. Every year many students take gap year or some like to call it a drop year to take their time to reflect and decide on their eventual career path
