No matter how much a student secures in Class 12, IIM Bangalore, while shortlisting candidates for MBA follows a normalization process and gives weightage to all exam scores, i.e., Class 10, Class 12 or graduation. The process of normalisation is explained below:

1. For IIM Bangalore PGP admission, a shortlist will be prepared comprising the names of candidates who have secured a pre-determined minimum score on all sections of CAT.
2. All the subsequent processing, standardization and selection are limited to candidates selected to the first short list alone. Therefore, the CAT score alone is used as the basis for arriving at the first short list
3. For all candidates in the first shortlist, a candidate's percentage scores in the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are adjusted by dividing each such score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that board. For this purpose, the database of Class 10 and Class 12 scores of all CAT applicants of the past two years is used for identifying the 90th percentile score for each Class 10 and Class 12 scores board.
   
   

I recommend the following steps for you to get admission in a government college:

1. Research government colleges in Tamil Nadu that offer courses that interest you.
2. Consider your marks in the 12th grade and the cutoff marks of the colleges you are interested in.
3. Apply to as many colleges as possible. This will increase your chances of getting admission.
4. Give preference to colleges with lower cutoff marks.
5. Choose a course that is in high demand. This will give you a better chance of getting admission in a good college.
6. Be prepared to pay a higher fee. The fees for government colleges in Tamil Nadu are usually higher than the fees for private colleges.

There are a few possible reasons why your NIOS 12th result is showing only 4 subjects, even though you took 5 subjects:

* You may have failed one of the subjects.
* You may have opted out of one of the subjects before the examination.
* There may be a clerical error in your result.

If you failed one of the subjects, you will need to retake it in order to pass your 12th NIOS. You can do this by appearing in the next NIOS examination.

If you opted out of one of the subjects before the examination, you will need to re-register for that subject and pay the examination fee again. You can then appear in the next NIOS examination for that subject.

If you believe that there is a clerical error in your result, you should contact the NIOS regional center where you registered for the examination. 

Here are some steps you can take to find out why your NIOS 12th result is showing only 4 subjects:

1. Check your NIOS examination admit card to confirm that you registered for 5 subjects.
2. If you are sure that you registered for 5 subjects, contact the NIOS regional center where you registered for the examination. They will be able to tell you why your result is showing only 4 subjects.
3. If the NIOS regional center is unable to resolve the issue, you can file an appeal with the NIOS headquarters.
