There are two streams in merchant navy: navigation and engineering. To be a navigating officer, you have to complete a three-year course and to be a marine engineer it's a four-year B.Tech/BE course. Now some pointers about life at sea.
The salary and benefits are excellent but in the initial years, you have to stay at sea for 5 months and then you get a 2-month leave. Senior officers/engineers have to stay in the sea for less. Now if you are really serious about joining the merchant Navy, you should research about the life at sea, you could watch documentaries on youtube about their lives. NIOS certifications is recognised by few universities abroad. You are advised to look at NIOS website for list of universities, which accept NIOS students for admission in undergraduate degree courses.

You have large number of options available in front you, if you have PCBM background. You have three major career options, i.e. medical, engineering and science. You can choose any based on your interests. If you are not clear about your interests, you are advised to appear for both medical and engineering entrance exams.
You can choose any based on type of institute, where you want to get admission. Based on expected marks, you will be able to get admission in B.Sc honors in any university.
You also have option to do BBA and BCA. You can also change stream to commerce, humanities, fine arts, hotel management, fashion designing, etc.

Go for B.Sc in chemistry, you can also opt for engineering streams like chemical engineering and petroleum engineering.

You can take various courses like B.Tech, B.Arch., B.Sc., fashion designing, etc. Apart from these courses you can go for BCA and CS also. There are lots of options. It depends on your area of interest.
