As per your query besides engineering and medical studies you may consider pursuing some of the below mentioned course after completing your class 12th.
1. BBA (Bachelor of business administration)
2. BHM (Bachelor in hotel management)
3. BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media)

Well in order to get into Merchant Navy, you need to pursue Marine Engineering or Bachelors degree in Nautical Science. The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.
