After completing a bachelor's degree in the field of science, students often look to pursue an MSc Chemistry distance education. There are a few colleges that provide MSc Chemistry Distance Education as well.

• To be eligible for this course at a distance students need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• The minimum duration required to complete this course is 2 years and the maximum duration of the same is 5 years.
• The common method of admission to MSc Chemistry distance education is offered based on scores obtained at the graduation level.
• There is no age limit set for the aspirants eager to pursue this course from a distance.

The AJEE Chemistry Syllabus is as follows -

• Physical Chemistry - states of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular structure, chemical thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, redox reactions and electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, and surface chemistry. 

• Organic Chemistry - purification and characterisation of organic compounds, basic principles of organic chemistry, hydrocarbons, organic compounds containing halogens, organic compounds containing nitrogen, organic compounds containing oxygen, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, biomolecules, principles related to practical chemistry. 

• Inorganic Chemistry - classification of elements and periodicity in properties, general principles and processes of isolation of metals, hydrogen, s-block elements (alkaline and alkali earth metals), P-block elements, D and F-block elements, coordination compounds, and environmental chemistry. 

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Chemistry Programme at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira College, Rahara: Candidates who join this B.Sc Chemistry programme at RMVCC have to complete their 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent with any recognized board. Candidates who have done science courses with Chemistry as the principal course and Mathematics/Biology as their additional courses are eligible to apply for this program. The minimum aggregate score is in the range of 50-60% from the qualifying test. However, it is year-specific, as the cutoff will be different for each one. Admission is strictly merit-based. The selection is done from the applications received based on their performance and is shortlisted by inviting them for counseling or interviews.
