Hi,
You need to pursue B.Arch course to be an Architect. Firstly, complete your Diploma, register for NATA exams/JEE paper 2 exams and qualify in it to seek admission to a 5 year B.Arch Degree course, once the course is completed you become an Architect. Check the link below to get a list of approved Architectural Colleges. https://www.coa.gov.in/index1.php?lang=1&level=0&linkid=25&lid=26.

Hi,
There is vast difference between an architect and a civil engineer. In short, an Architect designs, executes and supervises a project, where as a civil engineer is responsible for onsite construction of a project.

No, an undergraduate civil engineer cannot be an Architect. He will have to go through 5 years of B.Arch degree course again to be an Architect. The Pros would include many, in short An architect would design rather than just execution on site like a civil engineer. Cons in your case would include investing 5 years more. Its like a double degree.
