Humboldt University of Berlin MA in English Literature admission requirements for international students are given below:
- English language proficiency: C1 level of proficiency / IELTS with 6.5 bands or TOEFL score of 100
- German language proficiency: B2 level proficiency in German

Usually, the language of instruction at Humboldt University of Berlin is German. All UG programs are taught in German, but, there are some internationally based PG programs as well as lectures and seminars that are taught in English.
Please note that there might be different language requirements for various master's degrees. Applicants of a bachelor's and German language master's degree need to have German language skills at Level C1.

International students have to submit a completed application through Uni Assist. The documents that have to be submitted along with the application are a school leaving certificate, academic transcripts, language proficiency documents, etc.
What happens after submitting the documents?
After the documents have been submitted, the applicants will be notified that these documents have been forwarded electronically to Humboldt University of Berlin. Those who do not meet the entry requirements will also be notified.
