Yes Indian students are required to submit financial proof to get residence permit. Financial proof will show if student is able to cover all his living costs or not. Students can either submit documents of a blocked account or declaration of commitment or a scholarship grant or bank statements.

Yes, University of Cologne students can work while studying. Students can work up to 140 full days (4-8 hours per day) or 280 half days (1-4 hours per day) per year. This implies for both paid as well as unpaid internships. If in case, the time period exceed the ideal time period, students must apply for a permit at the Foreigners Registration Office.
