Candidates must have completed their BTech/ BE/ BSc engineering degree in their respective discipline from any University of Kerala or any other equivalent exam with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-pointer scale.
Candidates must have qualified for GATE 2022 with a valid score. GATE score will not be required for candidates seeking admission in MTech Marine Biotechnology. Such candidates will have to qualify for JNU CEE MTech 2022.
Non-GATE-qualified candidates can appear for the CUSAT Department Admission Test (DAT) that will be conducted for admissions later.

Admission to Management merit seats is purely based on merit. To get admission in the Management merit seat, the student has to qualify for the Kerala Entrance Exam KEAM). Also, the applicant must secure a pass in the +2 exam (Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent) with minimum 45 percent marks for Physics + Chemistry + Maths put together. Admission will be on the basis of merit only by adding marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination and the marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/equivalent in the qualifying examination.
