In 2023, MEC Kochi has been ranked #37 by India Today in the Engineering category. No recent ranking data is available for the college. However, in 2021, NIRF ranked it #279. It was also among the top six NIRF-Ranked colleges in Kerala in 2021.

MEC Kochi BTech course admission is entrance-based. The admission process involves application form filling, shortlisting of students based on KEAM score, and seat allotment. A cutoff list is released after conclusion of application procedure to declare minimum score required in examination for a candidate to become eligible for selection. Once selected, aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the college.

Modern Engineering College has not mentioned clearly whether it accepts the applications on the college website or not. Aspirants seeking admission in BTech need to fill out the KEAM application form. The process to apply for KEAM is to complete the KEAM registration by filling out the basic details and creating an application number and password to login at various stages of admission. For MTech, aspirants need to apply on the official website of DTE Kerala.

In the MEC Kochi 2022 placements, CSE students bagged maximum/good placement offers. The highest package recorded was above INR 32 LPA. Some of the top companies that made offers to the students were Google, Capgemini, and Myntra.

MEC Kochi has not released a separate placement report for BTech as of now. However, as per an overall report, the highest package offered in the 2022 placement drive was above INR 32 LPA. A total of 416 offers were made. Moreover, the top recuiters in the placement drive were Myntra, Google, and Capgemini.
