Cornell offers need-based financial aid to admitted international students who have applied for financial aid and have demonstrated financial aid. So, admission decision for financial decisions are need-based. This means that applications for international students are evaluated for admission with consideration of the ability of parents or students to pay the educational costs. The university aims to meet 100% of the admitted international undergraduates' demonstrated financial need.

Cornell University entry requirements for Indian Undergraduate and Graduate applicants are:
- UG: The applicants must have passed Secondary School. Also, do check the college-wise requirements too. From Fall 2026 session, SAT / ACT score will also be required. An English language proficiency score is also required
- PG: A Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline is required. Additionally, an English language proficiency score, academic Statement of Purpose, standardized test scores, LOR etc. are also required

The STEM designation means students are going to find Analytics, Databases, Machine Learning and other technologically driven tools and practices covered throughout the course. Cornell University received over 65,000 applications for the admission cycle of 2024-25, of which the university only accepted about 5,500 students. The number of enrollees on the other hand stood at 3,500. These statistics suggest that the Cornell University acceptance rate is around 8.4%, making the admission criteria of the university extremely selective.
The number of international applications received on the other hand was almost 17,000, of which 580 students were offered admission. This means that the Cornell acceptance rate for international students is even lower, at just 3.4%, making the competition extremely diffcult.

The main campus of Cornell University is located in Ithaca, NY. The campus size is 2,300 acres. Cornell is approximately a 4-hour drive from New York City. The university is about an hour north of Binghamton, three hours from Niagara Falls, an hour south of Syracuse. Besides, Ithaca, Cornell University is extended to other locations like New York; Doha, Qatar; Geneva, New York; Rome; Washington D.C.
