New York is among the costlier US based cities to study & live in. Rents for private apartments for individual living are sky-high, hence why most students prefer on-campus housing due to its affordable nature.
The estimated cost of living in NYC is around INR 25-30 L. This figure may change based on the standard of living students decide to pursue.

Students living as part of the UG accommodation residences are not air-conditioned. The newest UG residences are designed to maintain a temperature between 70 & 75 degrees.
Some residents who require adaptive housing for health reasons are provided with air-conditioned rooms.
