Yes, Indian students can receive the Cornell University scholarships at Cornell Tech for MEng courses. Although they're very limited to merit-based scholarships rather than need-based.

The point to be noted is that the scholarships may cover the tuition fee till a good extent but they do not typically cover the housing or total costs of Cornell MEng course.

Yes, studying in the USA usually is quite expensive. As per the Cornell tuition fee for the year 2026-27, Indian students would have to pay USD 73.9K (INR 70.2L) for one year.

Some other components Health Insurance, accommodation, NYC Health Fee, Student activity fee and other miscellaneous costs are not included in that fee.

(USD 1 = INR 94.95)

No, pursuing the Master of Engineering (MEng) from Cornell does not require Indian students to have a GRE for admission

GRE scores are not accepted for the MEng programs at this university and submitting them won't influence the Cornell application decision.

However, Indian students should have a high GPA, English proficiency, LORs, CV and more as part of the Cornell University admission requirements.

  • Relevant experience is a plus (projects, internships and technical experience)

Yes, a GPA of 4.0 means that it is near perfect for Cornell University as an Indian student. It already puts students in the top-tier category of applicants academically. Although for Ivy Leagues like Cornell, Indian students need more than just good grades to get in.

Please note that admissions are highly competitive with acceptance rates dropping as low as 10% (unofficial source)

Look at the other requirements given below -

  • Research experience
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • A really good research statement
