If we go through the CA CPT syllabus than exam comprises the following sections with their corrosponding marks.
1. Section A - Fundamentals of Accounting : 60 (Marks)
2. Section B - Mercantile Laws : 40 (Marks)
3. Section C - General Economics : 50 (Marks)
4. Section D - Quantitative Aptitude : 50 (Marks)
Section-A Fundamentals of Accounting comprises the following sub topics as Theoretical Framework, Depreciation Accounting, Bank Reconciliation Statement, Preparation of Final Accounts for Sole Proprietors, Accounting Process, Accounting for Special Transactions, Introduction to Company Accounts and Partnership Accounts. While the Section D - Quantitative Aptitude comprises the following sub topics as Ratio and proportion, Indices, Logarithms, Basic concepts of Permutations and Combinations, Inequalities, Simple and Compound Interest including annuity- Applications, Equations, Sets, Functions and Relations, Sequence and Series Arithmetic and geometric progressions, Statistical description of data, Limits and Continuity Intuitive Approach, Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion, Basic concepts of Differential and Integral Calculus (excluding trigonometric functions), Theoretical Distributions, Correlation and Regression, Sampling Theory and Probability and Expected Value by Mathematical Expectation. So from above Section-A and D needs much attention while Section-B and C less. Hence daily 4-5 hours of studies are enough for CA CPT exam.
