Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is mandatory for the following:
Students who have qualified Higher Secondary examination. Candidates who possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Candidates who hold a master's degree in any discipline.
Candidates who possess any professional qualification.
So, as you can see, Common Proficiency Test is mandatory for every individual willing to pursue Chartered Accountancy course and will remain so unless the proposal is approved by the union government. You can either pursue M.Com or MBA-finance after your graduation. Alternatively, there are other emerging courses that you can pursue along with your current graduation which include:
1. Certified Bank Manager Programme: A 2-year course covering the areas of banking and financial services, money, banking laws and regulations, treasury, credit, risk management and banking strategy. The course is offered by the Institute of Bank Management and Research (IBMR), Hyderabad. 2. Diploma in Banking & Services (DBFS): This is a post graduate 2-year Diploma course offered by the Institute Of Finance, Banking & Insurance (IFBI), Mumbai.

1. Click on the link given above to register for CA CPT exam.
2. Now go to Login/Register tab and select New User Register Here option.
3. Now, candidates will have to enter details like Student Details, Date of Birth, Examination, registration number (while they registered for CA CPT course), etc. (In case one doesn't have the registration number or any of the registration details provided by the candidate doesn't match with ICAI records, he/she will be offered to register as a provisional candidate.
