Yes, you can pursue D.P.Ed (Diploma in Physical Education) after completing your 12th. However, the minimum age requirement for most institutions is 17 years. Since you're 16 and a half, you would need to wait until you're 17 to apply for the program. Check specific college requirements, as age limits and eligibility criteria may slightly vary.

No, it is not necessary to do a D.P.Ed to become a PET teacher in India. The minimum qualification required for a PET teacher job in most schools is a Bachelor's degree in any subject followed by a B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education). However, a D.P.Ed can still be beneficial for your career, as it provides you with the specific skills and knowledge needed to teach physical education effectively.

BPEd gives a deeper understanding when it comes to physical education studies. Since the curriculum is deeper and holds more value, the career scope become wider for the graduates. Also, since the duration of the course is comparatively longer, it is chosen by the candidates who wish to go for long-term career advancements.
But, if we talk about a D.P.Ed, it is a diploma course, which is a shorter course in duration. It provides a quicker entry in the industry and does not hold that much advanced and deep knowledge in the curriculum. Although, it is great for candidates who want to enter the working field quickly, it can be a limitation
