A score ranging between 450-500 in NEET is taken as a safe score for BDS admission in a government college.

Students under the general category need to score 50 percentile in NEET for BDS admission, whereas the 45 percentile is for reserved category students.

Though you have not mentioned the category and the state name but nevertheless .Find the general details related to the expected cut off for different categories for getting admission:

  1. For UR: 420 and above
  2. For OBC: 400 and above
  3. For SC: 350 and above
  4. For ST: 310 and above

NOTE: These are the expected cut offs. The cut off varies from state to state. It may be less for other states.

With a NEET India rank of 1537350, it is unlikely that you will be able to get admission to a government medical college for BDS or BAMS. However, there are a few private medical colleges that offer these courses and have lower cutoffs.

Here are some of the private medical colleges that offer BDS or BAMS courses and have lower cutoffs:

  • Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Dental Sciences, Pune
  • Amity University, Lucknow

It is unlikely that you will be able to get a BDS or BAMS seat in Karnataka with 262 marks in NEET. The cutoff marks for BDS and BAMS in Karnataka are usually much higher than 262 marks.

The following table shows the cutoff marks for BDS and BAMS in Karnataka for the 2022-23 academic year:

SC/ST350300

As you can see, the cutoff marks for BDS and BAMS are much higher for general category students than for OBC and SC/ST students. However, even if you belong to a reserved category, it is still unlikely that you will be able to get a seat with 262 marks.

The reason for this is that the number of seats available for BDS and BAMS in Karnataka is limi
