The National Institute of Design (NID) will release admit cards for DAT Prelims on December 12, 2024. Meanwhile, the DAT Prelims exam will be conducted on December 24, 2023.
Admit cards for the DAT Mains will be released later.
The candidate must carefully presere the admit cards for the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. It is because the admit cards will be required at the time of seat allotment and admission.
Also, note that the window to download the admit card will only be open for a limited period of time.

The National Institute of Design (NID) released admit cards for M.Des DAT Mains exam on February 22, 2024 (4 pm). The admit card has been released online at admissions.nid.edu.
To download the admit card, enter your email ID and date of birth in the log-in window.
The M.Des DAT Mains exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted from March 4 to April 4, 2024.
The admit card will contain details like the date and time of the NID DAT 2024 exam, exam centre details, roll number, reporing time, and exam-day guidelines.

The NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a two-step entrance exam. The candidate first appears in DAT Prelims. If shortlisted, the candidate has to next appear in DAT Mains.
Here are some suggested study material for NID DAT 2024.

Candidates may note that the National Institute of Design (NID) doesn’t release any syllabus for either DAT Prelims or DAT Mains.
However, the institute has released the sample test papers for the NID DAT 2024 exam. The sample papers contain the questions similar to the ones that will be asked in the actual exam.
So, the candidate may download and practice the sample papers to get an idea about the difficulty level, types of questions asked, marking scheme, weightage, and topics covered.

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to provide correct and verifiable information during the application process. If the candidate is found to be using incorrect or couterfeir information, his or her candidature could be cancelled at any stage of the admission process. Further, if the candidate tries to influence, either directly or indirectly, to influence the management or employees, then also the candidate could be disqualfiied.
Note that the NID DAT 2024 counseling will have a document verification process. During this stage, all the information and documents furnished by the candidate will be cross-checked.

If NID DAT 2024 applications are submitted between December 5 (4 pm) and December 8, (4 pm), the candidate has to pay a late fees.
Note that the late fee amount is in addition to the application fees.
The category-wise application and late fees for the B.Des and M.Des courses are mentioned in the table below.

The National Institute of Design will conduct the DAT Mains exam separately for the B. Des and M.Des programs.
The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des programme will be conducted in April 2025 (tentative). Meanwhile, DAT Mains for the M.Des programme will be held from March onward.
The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des programme comprises a Studio Test that will be conducted in a center-based mode. Meanwhile, the DAT Mains for the M.Des programme comprises a Studio Test and Interview.
The final results of NID DAT 2025 will be declared by considering the performance of the candidate in the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The participating institutes of NID DAT 2026 offers B. Des and M.Des courses. The B. Des programme is available at five participating NIDs and has an intake capacity of 425 seats. Meanwhile, the M.Des programme is three NIDs and has a combined intake of 347 seats. Admission to both B. Des and M.Des courses will be through the NID DAT 2026 entrance exam. The seat allotment to the above courses wlll be based on respective merit lists which will be prepared considering weighted scores of DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
