The UI UX Design syllabus differs based on the course type, level and the college offering the course. The syllabus generally includes core subjects, electives, project work, studio classes, internships, and hands-on workshops. The UI/UX Design duration in India differs on the basis of the course level at which you're planning to pursue the course. The UG UI UX Design courses are usually 3 to 4 years long, while for PG courses, you need to invest at least 2 years at college. A PhD in UI & UX Design will take you around 3 to 5 years to complete.
Further for diploma and certification UI/UX Design courses, the duration can range from 1 month to 2 years, based on the course type, course focus and the college.

The time that is required to prepare for the UI/UX Design entrance exams cannot be said with any certainty because it differs based on the specific exam that you're preparing for. But in general, you need at least 4 to 6 months to cover the entire exam syllabus, have a look at previous year question papers, practice mock tests, and revise the tough and important topics in the last month.

You need to first begin by checking the eligibility criteria for UI UX Design courses as set by multiple colleges. Then you have t take the relevant entrance exams and get excellent marks and a high rank in order to get a seat at top design colleges.
Another very important step is to fill out the college application forms before the last date. After the exam results are out and you have got your marks, you then have to appear for studio tests or submit a strong portfolio to show your skills.

You can pursue UI UX Design courses at the UG level after passing Class 12 in any background that can be Science, Arts, or Commerce, and having at least 50% marks in the board exams.
You can either opt for a full-fledged 3 to 4-year degree course or opt for a Diploma and specialised certifications in UI and UX Design, based on your interests and plans.
