Yes, BDes in Animation generally requires students to pass Class 12 from a recognised university with the required percentage for admission. Most of the popular government and private colleges in India demand at least 50% marks in Class 12 for accepting admission to the Bachelor of Design course in Animation.
Some top-ranking colleges may also ask for entrance exam scores as additional requirement for admission. The eligibility criteria varies for different colleges in India.

No, NIFT Mumbai BDes admissions are strictly entrance-based. For BDes admissions, the institute conducts its own entrance exam, i.e., NIFTEE. Thus, students seeking admission to this programme must have a valid NIFTEE score. This exam is divided into two parts, namely General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). Students who qualify these tests are also required to appear for a subsequent Situation Test. Based on NIFTEE scores, students are ranked and allocated a seat. Moreover, the students must also fulfil the eligibility requirements prescribed by the institute.
