NIFT Mumbai admits students to its BDes courses via scores obtained in the NIFT Entrance Exam. For 2025 admissions, this test was conducted by NTA on Feb 9, 2025. Moreover, NTA has also released the entrance exam results. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results and download their scorecards by using their login details on the official website.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released the NIFT 2024 application form on December 5, 2023.

The NIFT application can be filled with both regular and late fees of INR 5,000.

The last date to apply with regular fees was January 3, 2024. However, with late fees, application was accepted up to January 16, 2024.

NIFT has also released the program-wise eligibility criteria that candidate needs to meet for admission to the design program they are applying to. The National Institute of Fashion Technology currently offers B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech, and MFM courses at its 18 participating NIFTs.

According to student reviews present on Shiksha, NIFT Mumbai provides good placements for BDes students. As per the reviews, 90% of the students were placed during recent years' placements. Apart from this, the students suggest that the salary packages at NIFT Mumbai ranged from INR 3.5 LPA to INR 13 LPA.

Once students have filled out the NIFT Mumbai BDes application form, they are required to appear for the NIFTEE exam. At the time of the exam, students must carry the NIFTEE admit card. After the exam, students must wait for the release of the cutoff list. Those who meet the cutoff are further required to take part in the counselling process.

Pursuing a BDes from NIFT Mumbai helps students develop a foundation in the field of Design. In case of the B. Des and B.FTech programmes, the candidates should be less than 24 years as on July 1 of the admission year. There is relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. However, there is no age limit for applying to the postgraduate programmes at NIFT. When applying for admission to design courses at the NIFTs, the candidate must also carefully go through the academic requirements. Note that even if a candidate qualifies the NIFT Entrance Exam but doesn't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, he or she will not be considered for admission.

The allocation of BDes seats at NIFT Mumbai is subject to rules of reservation set by the institute. As per NIFT's reservation policy, 22.5% of the seats are reserved for the admission of SC/ST category students to its BDes course. Out of which, 15% of seats are reserved for SC students and 7.5% are reserved for the admission of ST students.
