You can. Textile design teaches you the fundamentals of designing materials, patterns and prints. You can use this knowledge in fashion designing. Don't worry if you have scored less marks in Class 12. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the programme is a 10+2 pass in any discipline. Some colleges may also insist on a minimum mark, which may be anything from 50% aggregate marks and upwards. However, colleges ask for 45% aggregate marks if the students are from SC/ ST/ OBC category. Aspirants from any stream, Humanities/ Commerce/ Science are eligible to pursue a course in Textile Design.
