The participating institutes of NID that 2023 offers B. Des and M.Des courses. The B. Des programme is available at five participating NIDs and has an intake capacity of 425 seats. Meanwhile, the M.Des programme is three NIDs and has a combined intake of 347 seats. Admission to both B. Des and M.Des courses will be through the NID that 2023 entrance exam. The seat allotment to the above courses wlll be based on respective merit lists which will be prepared considering weighted scores of that Prelims and that Mains.

Yes, the NID result is declared online on the official website of the design entrance exam. Aspirants need to visit NID admission page, click on the result link and log-in using their email id and date of birth. Note that the National Institute of Design will not send hard copies of the NID that scorecard to the candidate. The NID that scorecard for prelims will include details like Part I, Part II, and total scores secured by the candidate in the exam. Meanwhile, the scorecard for that Mains will also include the NID that 2023 merit rank of the candidate.

The FINAL results for the B.Des program will be declared in the third week of May 2026, while final results for the M.Des program will be announced in the first week of May 2026.

The merit lists will be released at the time of declaration of results. The lists will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Also, the merit list will be considered for seat allotment.

Yes, you can join the M.Des after B.Sc. The eligibility criteria of the M.Des course is Bachelors in any relevant field like design/fine arts/ architecture, etc. From a recognised university and with minimum of 50% marks in graduation. The average M.Des fee ranges between 2-3 Lacs per annum.

The UCEED question paper is of 3 hours and includes two parts - The computer-based Part A and the sketching-based Part B. It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the paper. Also, Part B paper answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A. IIT Bombay will release the cut-off marks for Part A before the declaration of results. Part A will include the following types of questions:
Numerical Answer Type (NAT)
Multiple Select Question (MSQ)
Multiple Choice Question (MCQ). .

Note that the Part B question paper is not evaluated unless the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A are shortlisted and are allocated a merit rank. In case of candidates who have failed to qualify Part A of UCEED 2023, they are not issued any merit rank. Their scorecard merely includes Part A scores. In case of candidates who are shortlisted and are issued a merit rank, they can participate in UCEED 2023 and seat allotment.

The allotment of UCEED 2023 seats is based on the 1) UCEED 2023 merit rank of the candidate and 2) choice opted at the time of choice filling. IIT Bombay conducted choice filling process from March 14-31. Candidates who were allocated a merit rank in UCEED 2023 were able to select campuses. Note that the allocation of seats is done institute and category-wise. Candidates who have been allocated seats will have to get their documents verified and pay the admission fees.

A total of 205 B. Des seats are offered by the five UCEED 2023 participating institutes. IIT Bombay conducts a Joint Admission Process for filling these seats. The allotment of seats will be based on UCEED 2023 merit rank and campus selected at the time of UCEED 2023 counseling registration. The online registration for UCEED 2023 counseling was held from March 14 to 31, 2023. Note that in addition to UCEED 2023 participating institutes, result-sharing institutes will also allocate some seats on the basis of UCEED scores. However, the result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Admission process conducted by IIT Bombay.
