Students must score at least 40% out of 25/15 marks (i.e.10/6 marks) in Theory papers. Even for practical exams held by Alagappa University for select subjects, the student has to score 40% out of 40/10 marks (i.e. 16/4 marks).

The eligibility criteria vary depending on the course. 

  • Undergraduate Programs: 10+2 (Higher Secondary School Certificate) examination or an equivalent qualification.

  • Postgraduate Programs: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university is mandatory for enrolling in Postgraduate programs.

Some programs have additional eligibility requirements beyond the minimum qualification, as follows - 

Online MBA Degree - Any bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination .

The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.
