DTU - Delhi Technological University

Nine years before the first IIT was founded at Kharagpur in 1950, Delhi Technological University (DTU), originally known as Delhi College of Engineering, was founded in 1941. IITs promote a set of universities with an NAAC ranking of "A" or higher. Additionally, DTU is ranked 'A' by the NAAC. Both colleges offer their students a wide range of UG and PG courses along with fantastic placement chances. The top package available at DTU for the 2021–2022 academic year was INR 1.8 CPA, whereas the highest packages at IIT consistently surpass INR 1 CPA. It is safe to conclude that DTU and IITs are equivalent when comparing all of these factors.

Approximately the placement percentage of DTU CSE varies from 88 % - 93%. Even colleges better than DTU find it difficult to maintain a 100% record. Students who have poor grades or backlogs usually get rejected while many top graders opt for higher studies generally in foreign universities.The University has released the 2023 placement statistics. As per the report, the highest package offered to BTech students was INR 82.05 LPA and INR 25.22 LPA, respectively. Further, a total of 1,635 offers and 1,499 students were placed during DTU BTech placements 2023.Top notch engineering college meeting international standards of education. You'll need to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with Science, Commerce, or Arts stream or a three-year Diploma recognised by AICTE.

Admission to BDes at DTU is based on a valid score in the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) exam.

Selection Process:

1. Register and take the UCEED exam, typically held in the month of March.
2. After the UCEED results are declared, DTU releases its application form for BDes admissions. Fill it out.
3. Merit List is based on the UCEED score. Candidates are ranked according to their UCEED performance.
4. Counselling: Based on your rank and seat availability, you'll be called for counselling. During counselling, you'll need to choose your preferred specialisation within BDes (if applicable) and confirm your seat.

The top 5 BTech specializations offered at DTU are:

1. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - DTU offers a 4-year BTech programme in CSE with a total intake of 480 students. The minimum eligibility is 60% in 12th with PCM and English. The total fees are INR 6.06 Lakh.

2. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) - ECE is one of the 16 BTech specializations offered at DTU. Admission is based on JEE Main score followed by JAC Delhi counselling.

3. Mechanical Engineering (ME) - ME is another major BTech programme at DTU with 16 specializations. The minimum eligibility is 60% in 12th with PCM and English.

4. Electrical Engineering (EE) - EE is one of the 15 BTech specializations offered at DTU. Lateral entry is also available for Diploma holders in EE.

5. Civil Engineering (CE)- CE is a popular BTech programme at DTU with a total of 16 specializations. Lateral entry seats are also available for CE.

There are several specialisations available in Delhi Technological University's (DTU) four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) course. The B.Tech programme has a total tuition cost that varies from INR 6.06 Lacs to INR 6.42 lakh. The university can accept up to 2515 students in total for the B.Tech programme.
