Q:   Can I get into DTU without giving JEE?
    7thumbs up
    A:

No, candidates cannot get admission to DTU without appearing for JEE Main as the DTU BTech counselling is done through JAC Delhi. The basic criteria for admission to BTech is appearing for JEE Mains. To get into DTU, candidates must score decent marks or at least around 220 or above marks in JEE Mains. The only way to get into DTU without appearing for JEE Main is by taking a lateral entry admission to BTech second year. In order to do this, candidates must complete a Polytechnic course of two years and then appear for an entrance exam (not JEE Main but this exam will give you entry in DTU's second year.

Q:   What is the placement rate at DTU?
    A:

As per the Shiksha verified reviews, the placement rate for DTU is 90%. The the highest international and domestic package offered during DTU placements 2025 was INR 1.8 Crore per Annum and 85 LPA.

Q:   What is the DTU CSE cutoff for OBC category?
    A:

DTU BTech cutoff 2026 has been released based on JEE Main, followed by JAC Delhi counselling. For CSE, the JEE Main Round 4 closing rank is 7060 for students belonging to the General AI quota. Check out the table below to view the round-wise closing ranks:

Q:   How is DTU in terms of studies?
    A:

DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.

Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.

The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.

DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.

Q:   What are the category-wise cutoffs in JAC Delhi for CSE to get into DTU?
    A:

DTU JAC Delhi cutoff 2026 is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam. The cutoff was released across various categories under the AI and HS quotas. Check out the table below to view the DTU category-wise CSE cutoff 2026 for the latest (4) round.

A decent college to learn design, if not IITs.
Placements: The design course is new in the university, so the placements are low, but the alumni network is pretty good, which might help in placements. The highest package was gained by Salesforce for about 24 LPA, and the lowest was around 10 LPA (I'm not sure of the lowest one). The top recruiters are Snapchat and Salesforce. People get pretty good internships on campus; most of them also get internships in October when Adobe comes to hire. The roles are UI/UX designer and visual designer.
Infrastructure: The department is decent since it's DTU. The labs and classrooms are well-furnished, and there is AC in every classroom. The library is good but has very few books for design as it’s not IIT, obviously. Also, the management system is pretty bad when it comes to the hostel. Firstly, they have a scheme that gives priority to out-of-Delhi students; still, many outside Delhi students are not getting hostels. Also, some hostels are non-AC, like for girls.
Faculty: Teachers are good and knowledgeable, but most of them are guest faculty. However, they teach pretty decently and give assignments and activities related to our course, so it is quite good. I would rate the teaching quality as 7 out of 10. The semester exams are pretty decent, as the college has written exams for us, which are pretty easy.
Other: The UI/UX design program is pretty good, which is why I chose this course, and the industry is also growing. The events and fests are pretty good, and we are given a TAship for about 12.5k per month, which is pretty good.
