    Commonly asked questions
    On B.E. / B.Tech Fees
Q:   How are candidates shortlisted at DTU for MBA admission?
    A:

The selection of the candidates at DTU for MBA admission will be made on the basis of one or more of the following:

    • Work experience
    • Academic performance
    • Personal interview
Q:   Can I get admission in DTU through JEE Mains with 76.98 percentile?
    A:

Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors:

    • Number of aspirants registered
    • The difficulty level of the exam
    • Total number of seats available
    • Total number of applications received for a particular program
    • Category under which admission is sought

Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question. Students can, however, use this college predictor created by Shiksha to know the college they can get with their JEE Main score.

Q:   How are candidates selected for BTech admission at DTU incase of two candidates with same rank in JEE Main?
    A:

If candidates have identical Common Rank List (CRL) in JEE (Main) - 2026 Paper-I even after applying NTA's tie-breaking measures, the following order of additional tie-breaking criteria shall be adopted for seat allocation in JAC Delhi:
    1. Date of Birth (preference to the elder candidate).
    2. Random draw process in case the tie still persists.

DTU offer seats in BTech under JAC counselling.

Q:   Is Delhi Technological University BTech admission open?
    A:

Delhi Technological University BTech admissions are ongoing for academic year 2026.

Spot round counselling is scheduled to continue until July 31st this year. JAC will release the result of spot rounds in August first week for all candidates.

A review of DTU from a current student.
Placements: I'm in my 3rd semester right now so I've not participated in placements, but from what I've known from our official briefing by the ECE Department, the placement is very good. All core ECE companies like Texas Instruments, AMD, Qualcomm, Ansys, and more visit the campus, along with major FAANG companies too.
Infrastructure: Campus Infrastructure is very good. Classrooms are modern with ACs, whiteboards, projectors, and seats are comfortable too. Hostels are decent. New hostels, VLB and APJ hostel have ACs and good infrastructure, other hostels are comparatively outdated. Mess food is average in quality. Library is good, with a sufficient number of seats and fully AC. There are 3 floors, but the issue is it closes around 9:00 PM, and during exam times it gets open 24/7, so that's good. Wi-Fi is average somewhere it's 400 Mbps plus, and in some places it's 16 Mbps plus. Most people use their phones' hotspots. Sports facilities are good all kinds of sports are there, a good gym (free).
Faculty: Faculty is good but only some are good teachers. They are mostly Ph.D. holders, and qualified. Teaching quality is decent don't expect them to teach you everything like your teacher used to do. At the end of the day most students study from YouTube. The curriculum is not as regularly updated as IIITs do but it's not too old. Listen to your professors in class. For midsem, studying around 10 days before it is sufficient, and for endsem, studying before 20 days of exams is more than sufficient. Both midsem and endsem are PYQ-based.
Other: I chose ECE because I was interested in electronics, Arduino, ESP, and microcontrollers, I used to love making DIY projects. ECE has a future every AI needs a chip to process, and this branch is entirely based on that. If they add more project-based approach, like every semester you need to make projects based on electronics. DTU is known for fest for a reason. Every month something is going on. Campus crowd is good and smart. Connectivity is again good like Samaypur Badli is 1.5 km and Rithala is like 3- 4 km from college and soon like in 2032-33 DTU will have its own metro station.

DTU - A place of opportunities.
Placements: The placement here is quite nice with the top companies that are coming for the campus placement being DMRC, Aditya Birla, Adani and many more top companies. In the private sector, the overall average package is quite low, but in the government sector, it is very good and the overall placement percentage is 70 percent, which is very good as compared to the core branch, but many people switch from core to tech and finance, in which the overall average placement is good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of DTU is quite good. The college campus is an approximately 170 acres with lush green trees. The hostel facilities are also very good with a total of 14 hostels, of which 4 hostels are for girls and 10 hostels are for boys. The newly constructed hostel is APJ hostel, which is Abdul Kalam hostel, which is an 11-floor building with overall facilities very good as compared to the old hostel, which was constructed way before. The mess facilities are also very decent.
Faculty: The exams are always taken at the right time without any delay, and in this, the credit goes to the management. The teachers are very good and very experienced. The curriculum is also designed very nicely in view of the demand of recent changes in the industry, and in terms of examination, the results are always declared at the right time. So the students don't have to wait very long for the result.
Other: Delhi Technological University, which is also known as Delhi College of Engineering, is mainly famous for its fests, which are north. India's most famous include Engifest, Yuvan, and many more. If you talk about one demerit of this college, it is the ratio of boys to girls, which is very low as compared to other colleges.

Good placements if you study. Some good teachers, others are mid. Study on your own.
Placements: 80 percent of the batch got placed out of nearly 200 students in my branch, software engineering. The highest package is 85 LPA, while the average is 20 LPA, and the median is 17 LPA-18 LPA. Top recruiters are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Cred, etc. Most of the placed students have a CGPA greater than 8.
Infrastructure: Various facilities are provided in college. All classrooms have centralised air conditioning. Every floor has water coolers and every building has lifts. Various sports facilities are provided like cricket, badminton, football, TT, kabaddi, tennis, etc. As well as a gym provided by the college.
Faculty: Some teachers are highly knowledgeable, while others are not so. Some are chill, not minding coming late, even 30-40 mins late and some mind even 10 mins late. Almost no teacher in my batch detains any student. Course have a few relevant subjects while a few are irrelevant too. Students need to prepare DSA by themselves for the interview. Semester exams are not that difficult, studying a week before the exam can get you 8.5-9 CGPA.

Average placement stats. Hostel buildings are good. Exams are a little bit chill.
Placements: 70 percent of students were placed last year from my course. The highest package was 82 LPA, the average was18 LPA, and the lowest was 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, and many SDE companies. Internship opportunities are very vast in our course, and the stipend too.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure look good from the outside and have an innovative design. The lecture rooms are not the best, and Wi-Fi is next to zero outside the library and hostels. Hostels are a challenge of their own. AC hostel is only one building across the college for all four-year students.
Faculty: Teachers are mid. It usually depends on the teacher's passion. You may find a passionate teacher, but academically, they may not be good. DTU give you the most useless course subjects that will never help you in a job. Semester exams are more about writing and page filling.

Good placement, learning opportunities, and amazing campus.
Placements: Placements are good in tech branches. Around 80-85 percent of students got placed this year from IT branch. The highest package is more than 60 LPA and the average is around 17 LPA-18 LPA. The top recruiters are Google, Amazon, Apple, TCS, Infosys, etc. Top roles offered are software developer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Overall college infrastructure is very nice. DTU has every essential infrastructure. The library is good. Wi-Fi is not available. There is a connectivity issue. The first-year classrooms are average and the 2nd-year classrooms for tech branches are amazing. Similarly, 1st-year hostels are below average and from 2nd year on hostels are okay. Food in hostels is not that good but not bad either food in canteens is decent.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful. but some only focus on completing the syllabus. They all are well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality varies from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum for CSE, IT and SE is 80 percent theory-related, covering syllabus means covering essential topics for a job and thus it somewhat makes you industry-ready. The pass percentage is above 90 percent. Semester exams are mostly easy except for some subjects.
Other: The best thing about this course is the placement opportunity. All the companies that visit IITs visit DTU too and hence they offer great packages and roles. There are some irrelevant subjects which could be removed from this course. Many tech and non-tech events take place very often which offer great learning opportunities, while some are just promotions. Engifest is the main cultural fest which is very amazing and it gives unique experiences.

Quite satisfied with the college. Placements and infrastructure are good. It has value for money.
Placements: Placements of my B. Tech and Software Engineering branch are quite good. Nearly 60% of students got placed. The average salary package offered was about 20 LPA. The median package was about 15 LPA. I don't have an idea about core branches. But in the tech branch, if you keep a good CGPA and good skills, then you have a high chance of getting an offer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is very good. The department of my branch looks awesome. The labs and everything work well. Hostels of first year are a little bit bad because they are old but from second year onwards. Hostels are good too. Mess and canteen are also good. Our library is very good.
Faculty: Faculty are not very strict. They don't easily detain students due to low attendance. Faculty also teach well if you attend all of your classes. Curriculum is easier as compared to other colleges like IIT and NITs. So it is easier to score good CGPA with less efforts.
Other: I chose this course because it opens a large number of fields in the future. It is not a difficult course, so we can manage our college life too. Fests were good a couple of years ago, but last year there was a massive decline in the quality of fests. Students can get many scholarships.

    Dear reader,

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a great substitute for Delhi Technological University (DTU), even though assessing DTU admission prospects based on your JEE Main scores offers a solid basis for your academic preparation. With cutting-edge research labs, a curriculum that is in l

If your goal is placements in the tech industry, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology COE is generally the better choice. COE has strong placement opportunities, with many software companies hiring from the branch.

There isn't one magic book for LEET that guarantees admission to universities like DTU or Thapar. I've seen most students do well by first covering their Diploma basics properly and then practicing previous year papers as much as possible.

For Mathematics, books like R.S. Aggarwal are quite common, a
