With a JEE Main rank of 21614, securing a seat in ECE at a top NIT is possible, but it depends on several factors, including your category and the specific NIT you're targeting. While a rank below 10,000 is generally considered a good starting point for NIT admissions, newer NITs may have lower cutoffs.
However you can try for the NITs.

Yes with this rank in KCET, you will get admission for ECE.However you may have to wait a few rounds in the counselling process before getting a seat allocated.

Having backlogs and an education gap can make B.Tech admission a bit challenging, but it's not impossible. Many colleges allow you to apply once you clear your backlogs. Some private institutes may also accept you with backlogs or gaps, but it's better to clear them first. Be honest about your situation and check each college's rules before applying.
