GNIOT has released BTech courses through UPTAC exam scores. Considering the GNIOT cutoff 2024, candidates need to acquire a cutoff rank of 1353619 for the ECE course under General HS category. Similarly, the cutoff needed by the OBC quota candidates to get into GNIOT stood the same as of General HS quota. For more category-wise ECE cutoffs, candidates need to check out the table below:

The ECE syllabus is not similar in all the Indian colleges. Talking about the first year of ECE, the general subjects taught are almost similar that include Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Chemistry, Computer Programming, and the basic fundamentals of the field to provide a basic foundation for the ECE course ahead. For pursuing Electronics and Communication Engg. courses at the undergraduate level, you must have completed Class 12 in the Science background with PCM subjects with at least 50 to 60 percent marks in the board exams.
Further, you will have to appear for and pass entrance tests conducted at the national/state/institutional levels for admission to ECE courses. After the results are out, you must apply for the counselling process online and appear for the same on the given date. There is no hard and fast rule regarding age for pursuing courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at popular academic institutes in India. But, looking at the past admission trends in ECE courses, students are usually between 18 years and 24 years of age when they apply for UG-level ECE courses, and between 24 and 27 years for PG-level courses.
If you are a bright student with a good academic record and have successfully cleared the entrance exam or other assessment rounds, you can apply for Electronics and Communication Engineering courses.

Courses in Electronics & Communication Engineering are offered at the diploma, UG, PG, and doctorate levels. A diploma in Electronics & Communication Engg. is 3 years long. For UG-level ECE courses, the general course duration 4 years in India. If you opt for an integrated BTech-MTech in ECE, the total course duration will be 5 years. For MTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, the overall duration is 2 years in general. Further, the duration of PhD courses in ECE can span between 3 years and 6 years on the basis of your specialisation and the institution offering the course.
