In the 70s and 80s, colleges offered telecommunications engineering as a branch, Later, it was renamed Communications engineering by universities. Virtually, there is no difference between these two terms. You would learn wireless, mobile, fiber and telephone communication under this branch.

Hii, Industrial training is an important part of the stream if you are interested in ECE. You can learn a lot from the industrial training. As an Electronics engineer you can apply to BSNL, AAI, All india Radio, Indian Railways ( u need some source for that), BARC (also u need some source). My friend done industrial training in BARC. In BARC thay are used to teach Artificial intelligence. Thanks.

Of course all students who seek admission need to possess all criteria as decided by the concerned state govts.
