First of all it's not an university. It's an Institute affiliated with Tripura University. You can say it's a decent institute. In my opinion, if you have choices to go to NIT then don't choose this institute. Just  go for NIT.

Post Matric Scholarship Available For SC, ST, OBC student. You can get scholarship through NSP portal. Though tution fee is free for SC and ST students

  • DCST- Computer Science & Technology ( Duration: 3 years / Approved by AICTE & affiliated to Tripura University )
  • DETE- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering ( Duration: 3 years / Approved by AICTE & affiliated to Tripura University )

Yes, there are seat reservations at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Agartala. 

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%, Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%, Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%,  Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10% and Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 3% as per reservation.

"IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

  •  The JEE Advanced score of the candidate
  •  The category of the candidate
  •  The number of seats available in the course
