I think Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a very good job in the aviation sector. As we know, India has more aircraft and also Boeing many aircraft. An aircraft is a complex machine which needs a regular maintenance and this maintenance is done by Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME). Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are responsible for the security, safety, and maintenance of an aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers can do the job in Indian as well as foreign airlines. So, AME is a great job in terms of scope. To get admission in AME institute there is a famous national level common entrance test through which candidate get admission in DGCA approved AME Institute and the name of this test is Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test (AME CET 2018).

To become an engineer, you need to pass class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, as your subjects. In addition to it, you have to appear for the engineering entrance examinations conducted by several institutes including the IITs and other state boards and universities. There are seven Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) namely Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee, 20 National Institute of Technologies (NITs), couple of IIITs and several private institutes are engaged in the task of grooming engineers. The Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) of various universities and institutes and the All India Entrance examination (AIEEE) are the gateways to IITs and the NITs and the IIITs respectively.

You are actually saying too many things. Firstly, you are saying you are preparing for government service. Secondly you are saying that you are interested in doing MBA. The third thing that you are asking is are you eligible for B.Tech by distance mode? Now if you are preparing for government service or if you are interested in doing MBA then you must be graduate of some discipline. Knowing the present situation where in more than 50 % of fresh engineers are jobless, I would strongly advise you not to go for B tech in distance mode at all. Your dream of doing MBA is what you should pursue. I feel IGNOU is the best that you can think of as this MBA by distance mode has good appreciation by the prospective employers. Best wishes.
