Hello Radhika,
GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) is for admission into post graduate programmes like M.Tech
As the name implies, the questions are from the concepts that you would cover in the 4 years of B.Tech. For each branch of engineering, there are separate question papers so that you can do M.Tech from that branch itself.
In addition to this, you also have questions from general aptitude (GA).
Hope this helps you.

Hi,
Actually, there are so many benefits of qualifying JEE Mains. By qualifying the exam, you can get admission in top NITs, IIITs and many GFTIs.
Also, many excellent state government colleges accept JEE Mains scores such as DTU, NSIT, etc.
So, qualifying JEE Mains is awesome.

Prepare a time table first and then decide which subject to study first. After sometime, take some 5 to 10 minutes rest then start studying the other subject. Keep doing this everyday.

Hello Jaya,
Your chances of getting NIT is very low. Your category rank should be below 4000 to get NIT.
However, you can get a seat if there are any NITs in your state (home state) based on home state ranks.
You may refer below for the official opening and closing ranks for each NIT in the 7th round of counselling:
