It doesn't matter much what course you picked. IAF takes all forms of engineering students for various tasks. So, the best branch to choose would be the one you are interested in. You will be much better off with the branch you can easily study. Other than that, Aviation Engineering will be more appropriate given your query for obvious reasons. So choose what you think will be best for you.

3. IIIT-Hyderabad
4. BITS-Pilani
5. VNR Vigyan Jyothi.

If you have good rank, then you can go for IIT Hyderabad or BITS Hyderabad. If you have low score then go for university of Engineering Osmania which has fees about 6 Lacs and in IIT and BITS fees is though high, you can get scholarships education loan which will help you to build stronger future.

Study well all the subjects taught from the 1st year. Do a certificate course.

With this rank, you will not get good college. You will get just average private colleges.

I think computer engineering course is much better than travel and tourism, because there will be a lots of boost-up in computer technologies and the future time is fully based on automation.

For mining branch, the on-campus placements are very low, it's less than 30% and even low for the batches I saw. None of my friends from Mining department got placed in the campus and many of them have pointer 8.5+. Later, they got jobs through off-campus placements, that's a different story.
