For B Tech distance education, the syllabus depends on the college where you've applied for admission and the specialisation chosen by you, just like regular BTech courses. As far as the customization is concerned, the core subjects and concepts are almost similar and compulsory for you to study as they provide you with strong knowledge of the field. But the electives offered in the curriculum can be chosen as per individual interests and understanding, leaving some room for customization.

If you are working in the construction sector, distance BTech Civil Engineering could be a promising choice, while if you are into IT and software, distance BTech CSE stands as one of the most popular and in-demand choices among professionals. Basically, working professionals opt for distance BTech courses to hone their skills, learn extra knowledge, and turn into a valuable asset for their employers, hence, they look for something within their own domain.

You can definitely pursue Civil Engineering through B Tech distance education that is available at around 30 colleges in India. Civil Engineering is one of the most traditional engineering specializations that students usually consider opting for after completing Class 12 as a regular BTech degree. It is better to go for a regular program, as distance BTech courses are invalid in India after the AICTE and UGC guidelines because of the practical nature of engineering and technology courses that require hands-on training, which is not possible in the distance mode.
