Yes, scoring 70 in GATE is good, especially for disciplines like electronics and communication, mechanical, computer science, etc. Last year, Suraj Kumar Samal (Rank 1) obtained 84.67 marks in the GATE Mechanical subject. Hence, scoring at least 70+ marks in the GATE exam is better. IIT Roorkee will announce the GATE results on March 19, 2025. Read here for more - https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-results

The MTech syllabus across colleges differ based on the specialization. The syllabus for M.Tech courses includes some core subjects that are compulsory for you to study in each semester and a variety of elective subject choices that you can pick according to your interests and understanding, something you want to specialize in and take forward in your research career.

So, when it comes to the elective subjects in M Tech courses, you do have that choice of customization but the core subjects are mandatory for you to study.

The M.Tech full form is Master of Technology, and the course fee for studying M Tech varies on the basis of a lot factors like the college where you're planning to study the course, whether it is a private college or a government college, the chosen M.Tech specialization, college location, All-Indian ranking, placement records, etc. The average M.Tech fees at popular Indian colleges is between INR 3 lakh and INR 8 lakh. For the IITs, the M Tech course fees is general high because of their NIRF ranking and popularity in India.
