To join the KJ College of Engineering & Management Research for B.E./B.Tech a candidate must have passed 12th standard examination and should have minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They should also have to write the MHT CET or JEE Main entrance examination. B.E./B.Tech admissions Total intake is 480 students of which 30% are management quota seats. Some of the colleges and universities have online application processing forms on their website and there is others that are physical means which make the candidates to visit the college physically and access the forms. Sinhgad Academy of Engineering offers a BE programme across multiple specialisations. The admission to the BE course is based on candidates' performance in the MHT CET entrance exam, followed by the counselling process. For BE in Computer Engineering, the cutoff ranged between 86.72 and 88.06 in the General category under the Home State quota. For other categories, the MHT CET 2025 cutoff range is given below:

Based on the admission control norms in existence at the KJ College of Engineering & Management Research for admission to the B.E./B.Tech course is carried out with respect to the candidate's performance on the MHT-CET or the JEE Main. Passing one of these examinations is compulsory for the admission of any candidate. For this purpose, the college also takes into account the 12th standard marks of the candidate with minimum 50% marks in PCM taken together. The final list of students is drawn according to merit which is calculated as follows the entrance exam carry 70% weightage and 12th standard 30%.

The Engineering college may have seats reserved under the management quota that are vacant or left by the candidates. The AKGEC has 15% of seats under management quota and 85% through AKTU counselling. Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College may follow the rules of regulation of the state or central government. Thus, it may have seats for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. The total seats available for M.Tech is 63. Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College M.Tech admission is granted through counselling conducted by AKTU or directly at the college level. The primary thing checked for course admission is that the applicant must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Applications are accepted of eligible students only. To be eligible for the course, aspirants should have passed BTech degree course from a recognised university with at least 60% aggregate. Apart from this, the selection is done based on the seat availability.
